Uniblue renews its commitment to One Laptop per Child

Following last year’s Uniblue Causes campaign, the company has renewed its commitment to the non-profit organization One Laptop per Child (OLPC), by donating a further 100 laptops to children in developing nations. Since 2007, OLPC has provided approximately 2.5 million children and teachers in 42 countries with sturdy, low-cost, low-power, connected XO laptops, in order to facilitate collaborative, self-empowered learning.

È diventato molto facile prendere per scontate cose come l'elettricità, i computer e la connessione a internet, ma sono cose che usiamo ogni giorno e che ci aiutano a crescere e ampliare i nostri orizzonti. Sebbene si dica che "la carità comincia in casa propria", il nostro mondo sempre più interconnesso può farci da ponte anche verso cause lontane. Questo mese Uniblue Causes si concentrerà su due organizzazioni: il Nepali Women Yoga Trust e l'YMCA Homeless, con sede a Malta.

All'indomani dello Tsunami e del terremoto che ha colpito il Giappone, Uniblue ha lanciato “Cause Uniblue” - un programma di beneficenza con lo scopo di sostenere le operazioni di soccorso. “Cause Uniblue” si concentrerà ogni mese su una causa di beneficenza e cercherà di aiutare attraverso donazioni e azioni di sensibilizzazione.
